@raccooneyes55 I think you’re missing the point about David Mitchell; he’s not hate-fuelled or frustrated at all, he’s an intelligent, educated man, whose rants are all against the idiocy of modern society. Any rational person can see that he’s right in what he says. His popularity is based upon the fact that he is able to articulate common beliefs and values in an astute, succint way, and cut through all the “PC” bullshit we have to put up with nowadays. The point of their ads is to say – We are very very very interested in and enjoy greatly; our business and what we do. It’s intense because we care so much about the quality of our product and you should too becuase if you buy from us you can be sure that what you get will be the best, because we are PASSIONATE about what we do.
The fact that you have misinterpreted adverts aimed at the gullible and not bright is not something you should advertise.

A person is said to have a passion for something when he has a strong positive affinity for it. A love for something and a passion for something are often used synonymously.

@Sovieto you clearly aren’t in the corporate world…if you were (and had a sense of humor) you’d find this extremely funny. If you’d ever been in a job interview where someone stuffed into a suit w/as much passion as a cornhusk says w/a straight face: “Now tell me, what are you most PASSIONATE about?” And you can’t say anything you actually might be passionate about but must say something like “Delivering excellence in customer-centric experiences” – the new buzzword is “desire” btw…

it’s funny because we enjoy people pointing out the things we agree with in a ridiculous manner.
David is saying the word passion is far too an extreme word to use for these companies when the truth is they sell this stuff because it makes them money and use advertising to dupe the uinwitting public into buying it.
But saying it like that wouldn’t be funny – So David, a highly intelligent and funny man known for ranting, said it like this instead.
