the stimulus should have went to the real physical industrial economy, the manufacturing heavy-engineering high-technology sector. ask Russia for help to build an American version of Uralmash for Uralmash is Russia’s factory of factories and America better ask Russia for help in building one for itself. money is useless if there is no real physical-economy which is inherently heavy industrial based by nature. gold-backed money has value as long the policy of the concerned nation maintains it.

I think culture will only decline further. No more Internet, no more video games, no more TV, no more cell phone and all that texting… people will go nutz.
It will take a whole lot more to bring us back culturally. We need as you say simpler times but time are very complicated. It will take years to get us to change.

People will contract back to their local economies, Constriction will be the norm. Downtowns, farmers markets, eating locally and seasonally.. all of this will replace the strip malls, shopping malls, mega stores eating out, fast food…consumption will stop and conservation will be the norm. Just like our grandparents did in the 30′s.. we will be washing the tin foil and reusing it, saving jars, canning, pickling, and growing our own food.
All of this will make us stronger.
if we can get America privy to the truth then we can go through it together with care and compassion for eachother. Don’t just think for ourselves. We have what we need with eachother and the earth.

I agree ! If we all work within our local communities with each other, we can trade, barter, horse swap, etc. so as to stay alive. Big Government wants you to rely on it for TOTAL SUPPORT and it will FAIL. Don’t be a sap ! Get to know your neighbors and local stores and start putting a plan together for a ” JUST IN CASE” something should happen. Don’t WAIT, do it NOW !
i work for you you work for me and we all pull the little rug out from under them and they fall and we get on with our lives. peacefully and happilly then we can figure out a system so no one goes without! so put a value on the “deed” so the soldier or marine that gives their life would be the billionair not the guy making shoes or computers or playing baseball! oh! but that would mean we would have to do something and not sit on our asses all day long!
I wish this would just happen so we could get it over with, whether it be violent revolution, martial law, dollar collapse, food riots, civil war, etc. etc. Let’s just get it over with because I’m sick of all these predicitions and I believe are coming in some form. I have understood the vast amount of problems we face as a nation for many years. However, it wasn’t until I saw Mr. Celente on Fox News earlier today, that I realized this problem set is global. I have watched many of Gerald’s TV appearances, and listened to a gaggle of his radio interviews in the following hours. I have heard him repeat the same statements over & over again, almost to the point of mantra-ism. Unfortunately, this extremely intelligent man speaks unbiased truth. Good luck all.
I think that the problem of making such predictions attached to an exact date or month -even when they are going to happen- is that it’s so easy to fail not because of the matter, but because of we can’t predict the moment, we just know that everything is happening soooo fast lately. BTW, research about Bernanke’s -Chairman of FED- quote “We reserve the (absolute) right to handle interest rates in order to control inflation”. THEY HAVE NO REGULATING INSTITUTION.

Forget the food riots they may happen for a brief period but we will adapt and start gardens.But I do predict that this economic meltdown will last for 5-10 years. The dollar will collapse, we will have hyperinflation, you won’t be able to get credit to buy a house or car, the whole financial system is badly broken now. I have friends who bought houses 2-3 years ago and now can’t even sell them at a LOSS. This was all predicted in a book that came out in 1992 called “The great reckoning.”
Then again he is just a man, he isn’t a prophet, psychic, or some sort of a diety. Gerald Celente knows these issues are coming, the problem is predicting when it will happen. Banks will have run ons, there will be food riots, there will be violence, and fighting, there will be hyper inflation, that I’m certain of. The problems are just peaking there heads out as we speak. By the end of this summer, we will know what inflation really is when it shows rears its ugly face on the whole country.
He predicted run on banks would start February 09. It is now May 19, 09 and NO RUN on banks….not yet. Also no food riots as predicted. The violence has not started yet.
