Jon Lovitz is like many wealthy Democrats. They are all for changing Republican policies until the attention is turned to them with a very liberal tax policy saying, “You made it because someone helped you…now here’s a collection box where we’re all pitching in to give the working class a chance.”
People like Jon Lovitz are an example of unproductive wealth. He was allowed to succeed and paid by VERY wealthy people to act like a fool and help them keep America stupid. That is the definition of the mainstream entertainment industry. The best artists and most talented people are usually starving because they often have radical philosophical and political opinions, which isn’t tolerated or allowed in publicity by those in control.
What annoys me the most is that people like him who have a microphone and a spotlight speak out about only what affects them. They don’t speak out against the war, they don’t speak out against unconstitutional laws and corruption. All they care about are themselves and their ability to maintain a luxurious lifestyle.
It was a bubble economy ready to burst and bush tax cuts early in his Presidency exacerbated it and caused a huge deficit. Saying that because the Dems took majority in 08′ and that’s what caused the recession is idiotic. Economists saw the writing on the wall. If you want to go in that direction Bill Frist (R) was the majority leader in the Senate 03′-07′ when all shit the Reps were piling on gave way.

Based on your analogy, I’m assusming you think democrats don’t have lobbyists? Democrats controlled congress the last 2 years of Bush’s administration and the first 2 years of Obama’s administrtation – they had a fillabuster proof congress. The democrats had many opportunities to correct the tax code, but did not. Why? Because they have lobbyists “democrats” who create laws to shelter their taxes. Look at Buffet, the ultimate hypocrite. He lobbys the democrats to shelter his taxes.
Yes, because Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthy helped. And his tax cuts for the super rich promoted job growth & hastened the end of the recession. If you assume in the “trickle down” effect, guess again. The rich are getting richer and yet the poor are getting poorer. People like you have been making the same claim during the Reagan and Clinton era when they instituted tax hikes. Guess how that went? I’ll “smarten up” when you do.

Only 49% of the country pays federal taxes. So it is the rich and middle class that supports the majority. Also, many charities rely on the rich for funding. The rich pay their fair share, it just may be more direct than to the government. Both Obama and Romney donate a decent percentage to charities in addition to taxes, but there are stingy asses like Biden who don’t give squat.

The research news has been listing how many of the super rich have moved their businesses and holdings to other countries en mass over the past few years. Get it?
